I often find myself caught up in creative projects during the night, whether it’s crafting, building, or now, just writing my thoughts down.
There’s something about the quietness of the night that really gets my creative juices flowing, letting my mind wander to places that daytime just can’t touch.
As the world outside slows down and settles into a peaceful hush, it’s as if I finally have the space to breathe and think freely. This makes me think why I come alive when everyone else is winding down. Is it my spirit pushing me to share my ideas in the dark, telling me that there’s magic in these late hours? Or is it just the almost-3-year-old?
Maybe it’s because I grew up in an environment that had strict bed time rules and I needed something different? At no fault of my parents, I’ve struggled pretty much alone in my insomnia since I was a kid.
Sometimes I wonder if being misdiagnosed as ADHD and put on meds instead of therapy added to that.
Most of the time, I attribute it to my need for alone time, and that’s the only time I can find it. (That’s also because I don’t know, it all sort of… compliments each other in a strange, fucked up way. Negative experiences tend to compound.)
Whatever it is, I’m down for the ride, I just hope to fill out more of the map along the way.
